William R. Ridge Jr.

William R. Ridge Jr., 91, of Daisytown, PA passed away Monday August 24, 2026, in Lafayette Manor after a recent illness.

On September 9, 1934, he was born in Daisytown, a son of the late William Sr. and Ada Wise Ridge.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957 and later became a Tow Motor Operator for Steel Corp. from where he retired after over 30 years of service. In Bill’s free time he enjoyed fishing and was passionate about hunting. He was also a member of the Hungarian Club in Daisytown.

Surviving is two sons Steven Ridge, and Robert Ridge (Michele) both of Baltimore, MD; 2 grandchildren Billy and Kevin Ridge; 4 great grandchildren; one brother Bruce Ridge; several nieces and nephews.

Bill is preceded in death by his wife Laura G. Ridge who passed away December 14, 1997; siblings Dorothy Kulic, Diana Ridge, Shirley Apfel, Robert Ridge, Linda Shimko, and Perry Ridge.

Friends will be received on Thursday August 27, 2026, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home Ltd. 2830 Main St. Beallsville, PA. A brief service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Cathleen Molinari officiating. Interment will follow in the Taylor Cemetery. An online guestbook is available.
