Obituary

Virginia M. "Ginni" Wharry

Virginia Metz "Ginni" Wharry, 82 of Fredericktown, PA, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Standish Assisted Living, where she had been lovingly cared for since March 2025.  She was born on April 19, 1943, in Wheeling, WV, the daughter of the late Robert A. and Virginia Metz Wren.  Ginni was a 1961 graduate of Mount de Chantal Visitation Academy and earned her cosmetology license at Scott College of Cosmetology.  She was employed as a beautician at the Paul Beauty Salon in Wheeling, WV, before becoming a full-time mother and homemaker.

Mrs. Wharry adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with them.  Ginni was their beloved "Nana".  She also enjoyed gardening, watching the birds, and caring for her various pets through the years.  She was devout in her faith and loved reading her Bible in her favorite chair.  Her love for Jesus Christ was reflected in her sweet and gentle sprit, for which she will be remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving are her husband, John C. Wharry of Fredericktown, PA, with whom she celebrated her 60th anniversary this past March; two children, J. Scott Wharry (Deb) of Sun Prairie, WI, and Kathe Ford (Scott) of Richeyville, PA; four grandchildren, Jacob Ford (Sydney), Hannah Maxwell (Michiah), Abigail Baker (Cale), and Alex Wharry; two great-grandchildren, Halle Lujah Maxwell and Liesel Wren Maxwell (who was named after Ginni); brother Robert Wren of Wheeling, WV; and brother-in-law Alan Wharry (Judy) of Plano, TX.  She was looking forward to the arrival of two more great-grandchildren, Baby Ford this October and Baby Maxwell in January 2026.
