Virginia Louisetta Abbott-Lutes-Frye passed away at Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital on Friday, April 11, surrounded by her family. Virginia was 84 years old, born on July 3, 1940 in her family home of Fredericktown, PA. She graduated from Bethlehem Joint High School in 1958 and shortly after married Phillip D. Lutes Sr. (who later prematurely passed in 1963). They had 2 sons together, Phillip Lutes Jr. and Walter Lutes.

On February 14, 1964, she married Wilbert  C. Frye, living happily together for 39 years in La Belle, PA. They had 3 sons together, Wilbert M. Frye, Victor Frye, and Larry Frye. As her children grew older, she followed her dreams of breaking into the medical field by becoming an LPN at several different healthcare locations.

She retired in 2000, allowing her to spend time with her family and care for her husband until his eventual passing in 2003.

In 2007, she met her life partner Ernest Crawford and lived together in West Brownsville, PA. They spent several years together with their beloved miniature poodle Red until his passing in 2017.

She spent the remaining years of her life living with her youngest son Larry and his children and their several cats and dogs. She enjoyed building jigsaw puzzles, bird watching, playing scrabble, vegetable gardening, baking delicious sweets and homemade candies, and spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents (Fred Abbott Sr. & Rose Abbott) and her siblings Rose Ann Keys, Bernice Pierce, Fred T. Abbott, William Abbott, & Barbara Abbott-Harvey-Vincent. She is survived by her siblings Jack Abbott & Helen Sands, her 5 sons, 16 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all of her loved ones and will never be truly gone.

Friends will be received Monday 6-8pm and Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8pm In Greenlee's Fredericktown Funeral, 42 Bank St. at Crawford Rd. Fredericktown, Pa. 15333 where services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday April 16, 2025 with Pastor Ron Hudson officiating. Interment will be in Horn cemetery.
