Violet E. Scavnicky, 95, of Clarksville, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday April 18, 2026, in Lasosky's Personal Care Home.

She was born at home, in Pitt Gas, PA on October 18, 1930 a daughter of the late John and Susan Duray Slosarik.  In 1948 Violet graduated from the Jefferson High School, and was later a Homemaker for her beloved family.

Mrs. Scavnicky loved family gatherings, and baking her famous chocolate chip cookies.  She was also known for giving her "famous medical advice" and reading.   She enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and following Polka bands and dancing.  Violet was a member of the Fredericktown American Legion Auxiliary group.

Surviving are two children Carol Lunieski (Robert) of Irwin, PA and Michael Scavnicky (JoAnne) of Clarksville, PA; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; one sister Julia O'mara also of Clarksville; several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her husband Julius M. Scavnicky who passed away in 1977; Siblings John Slosarik, Sue Hughes, Mary Balch, Helen Sinclair, Betty Mcfaul, and Ann Bruno.

Friends will be received on Wednesday April 22, 2026, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Greenlee's Fredericktown Funeral Home Ltd. 42 Bank St. Fredericktown, PA where a Blessing Service will be held on Thursday beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Deacon Al Poroda officiating.  Interment will be held privately in All Saints Braddock Catholic Cemetery, Pittsburgh.  An online guestbook is available at www.GreenleeFuneralHome.com
