Velma M. Combs, 89 of Scenery Hill, PA passed away Monday, April 8, 2024 in Premier Washington Rehabilitation and Nursing.

She was born May 28, 1934 in Ellsworth, PA a daughter of the late John L. and Abbie J. Schoolcraft Harris.

Velma was a 1953 graduate of Ellsworth High School.

Mrs. Combs was a homemaker as well as a housekeeper at Washington Hospital for over 15 years.

She attended the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Bentleyville.

Velma was an excellent cook known for her Italian food and baking. She loved nature, especially gardening and horses.

Surviving are three sons, Harry R. "Ron" Combs Jr. (Erin), Joseph Combs, both of Scenery Hill, PA and Tim Combs (Theresa) of Ellsworth, PA; six grandchildren, Veronica Lind (Floyd) of Cottage Grove, OR, Jesse Combs (Ashley), Timothy Combs Jr., both of Cokeburg, PA Nicole Marx (David) of Carnegie, PA, Kara Combs of Daisytown, PA and Casey Combs; ten great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her husband Harry R. Combs Sr. who died in 2002 and a sister Wilma Paulik. Interment will be in Beallsville Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are private and have been entrusted to the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd., 2830 Main St. Beallsville, PA.
