Valerio E. "Val" Faieta, 66 of Vestaburg, PA passed away unexpectedly Sunday, January 17, 2021 at his home.

He was born May 8, 1954 at Greene County Memorial Hospital, PA; one of six children to the late Emilo J. "Mimi" and Loretta Mae Sikora Faieta.

Val was a graduate of Beth Center High School.  He was a member of the UMWA working in an underground mine for several years, a passenger service assistant on the Auto-Train in Lorton, VA as well as an appraiser for PENNDOT.

Valerio was a true animal lover, known to take in many stray animals throughout his life. His two cats whom he named Kit and Kat have been very special companions to him over the recent years. Val's passions included riding his motorcycle, Pittsburgh Steeler football, helping out anyone he could and having lots of laughter in his life. With age Valerio appreciated spending more and more of his time in the same home his nonno and nonna lived in.

Surviving are his five children, Gina Hoff, Melissa Shapiro, Valerio Faieta Jr., Avario and Kerrigan Faieta; five siblings, Emil J. Faieta Jr., Loretta "Totsie" Sabocheck, Carmen J. Faieta, Maurice M. Faieta and Lisa Ann Faieta; as well as several nieces and nephews who looked up to their uncle.  Valerio will be greatly missed by everyone's heart he has touched.  It is truly a loss that his vivacious personality, generous soul, loving character and contagious laughter he brought to our lives will no longer bless us on this earth again.  We do know spiritually he will continue to bless the ones who he loved and loved him back with lasting memories and positive thoughts.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, February 12, 2021 from 2 to 4 PM in the Greenlee's Fredericktown Funeral Home, Ltd., 42 Bank St. at Crawford Rd., Fredericktown, PA 15333. Private entombment will be held at Lafayette Memorial Park. The family suggests Memorial Contributions be made to the Washington Area Humane Society, PO Box 66 Eighty Four, PA 15330.
