Terrence A. "Terry" Gastner

Terrence A. “Terry” Gastner, age 80, of Brownsville, PA (Redstone Twp.) passed away peacefully on August 21, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Terrence was the son of the late Rudolph Gastner and Anne Jobuck and preceded in joining our Lord and Savior by his great grandson Levi Clarke. He was a highly decorated veteran soldier in the United States Army having served multiple tours in Vietnam.

He spent his life building a warm home in Fayette County, where he was known for his work ethic in the coal mines and with the housing authority, his cooking wings at the American Legion Post 705, his bar-b-subskills and sense of humor, sharing drinks with his sons and Son in laws and enjoying his time with his family above all else. He enjoyed reading his Bible, and western novels by Louie Lamour, an avid history buff he knew all about the history of the town and area he was raised in and enjoyed spirited logistical debates on warfare. He also enjoyed farming, raising hogs, chickens, goats, geese and a particular black angus’ steer that tried to best him, and his enjoyment of a good whiskey.

A beloved husband, he is survived by his wife Susan Gastener of 58 years of marriage, together, they built a life centered around love, family, and friends along with their four children.

Daughter Terri (Tara) Kulp and son-in-law James Kulp of Richlands, NC, with three granddaughters and spouses and great grandchildren; Kimberly and Jordan Clarke, great grandson Isaac, Cassandra and George Latch, and Ashley and Jordan Webb, great grandson’s Liam, Roman, Kacey, and great granddaughter Madelyn. Son George Gastner and daughter-in-law Michaela Gaster of Perryopolis, PA granddaughter Arianna, grandson Alex, grandson Nicholas and granddaughter Aurora. Daughter Rebecca Halcomb and son-in-law Rob Halcomb of Cincinnati, OH with grandsons Kaleb and grandson Tyler. Son Matthew Gastner and son-in-law Jeremiah Johnson Brownsville, PA.

Funeral arrangements are private, and under the direction of the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home Ltd. 2830 Main St. Beallsville, PA.
