Shirley L. Rankin, 87 of Washington, PA (South Strabane Twp.) passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care, Washington, PA.

She was born July 23, 1936 in Washington, PA a daughter of the late Joseph and Della Moore Wonsettler.

Shirley was a 1954 graduate of Ellsworth High School.

Mrs. Rankin co-owned and operated the family farm, Rankin Farm, for over 60 years as well as being employed as a department manager at Agway in Eighty Four, PA from where she retired with 20 years of service.

For over 60 years Shirley was a member of the Emanuel United Presbyterian Church.

She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, gardening, canning and traveling.

On September 10, 1955 she married Joe Rankin who died November 14, 2018.

Surviving are three children, Randy J. Rankin (Dawn Lynn) of Scenery Hill, PA, Gary D. Rankin of Washington, PA and Sheryl Anderson of Scenery Hill, PA; four grandchildren, Bryan Anderson, (Dani), Zachary Anderson (Lyndsay), Melissa Rankin (Brian) and Courtney Rankin; four great grandchildren, Noah, Nolan, Lakyn and Bryce Anderson; two siblings, Lynne Parros (James) of Las Vegas, NV and Charles Wonsettler (Rose) of Washington, PA; sister in law Norma Wonsettler of Ellsworth, PA; several nieces and nephews.

Deceased in addition to her husband are a son Barry L. Rankin; two brothers Richard and Joseph Wonsettler.

Funeral Services are private and under the direction of the Greenlee's Bentleyville Funeral Home, 619 Main St. Bentleyville, PA.
