Sandra Jane "Sandy" Sawka, 72 of Vesta #6, Denbo, PA passed away peacefully  Friday, July 5, 2024 in Uniontown Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born January 10, 1952 in Waynesburg, PA a daughter of the late Ray and Betty Racey Lamp.

On November 23, 1968 she married Frank Sawka III who survives.

Sandy was adventurous and spirited. She loved exploring old buildings and digging for rocks, leading her to attend California University of PA in her late 30's where she earned a bachelor's degree in archaeology. She worked in the field and lab before she and her husband bought a historic farm and ran a bed and breakfast.

She loved her pets and farm animals, camping trips, the beach, decorating sugar cookies, and making up imaginative games for her grandchildren, nieces and nephew.

Sandy had several illnesses that resulted in many years of extended decline. In the end, a very sudden bout of lung cancer quickly carried her to the next phase of her spiritual journey.

Also surviving are a daughter Raelin Sawka Musuraca of Pittsburgh, PA; three grandchildren; one great grandson; two sisters, Kelly Lamp of Virginia Beach, Va, and Dawna Babyak (Bruce) of Denbo, PA.

Deceased is a son Frank Anthony Sawka.

Per Sandy's wishes, there will be a private memorial for immediate family during which her cremains will be returned to the earth.
