Sam Conti, 91 a longtime resident of Clarksville, PA (Besco) passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2021 in his home.

He was born September 6, 1929 in Sandy Run, PA a son of the late Adam and Geovanna Paci Conti.

Mr. Conti attended East Beth High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1947. For his service he was awarded the WW II Victory Medal.

Sam was employed as a truck driver with Penn DOT for over 35 years retiring in 1991.

He was a lifetime member of the Hanson-Cole American Legion Post # 391 Fredericktown.

Sam loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, gardening and thrift shopping.

On December 3, 1955 he married Elsie J. Conti who died March 12, 2003. They celebrated 47 years of marriage.

Surviving are three children, Connie Ricciuti (Michael) of Ravenna, OH, Samuel Conti (Marlene Greene) of Fredericktown, PA and Michael Conti (Billie Jo) of Ravenna, OH; six grandchildren, Danielle Lamerson, Jennifer Conti, Ashley McCullons, Justine Welsh, Larissa Eperesi and Michael Conti Jr.; ten great grandchildren; a sister Josephine Manni of Pontiac, MI; a brother James Conti of Clarksville, PA; several nieces and nephews.

Deceased in addition to his wife are two brothers, Adam "Sonny" Conti Jr. and Louis Conti.

Friends will be received Monday from 1 to 3 PM and 5 to 7 PM in the Greenlee's Fredericktown Funeral Home, Ltd., 42 Bank St. at Crawford Rd. Fredericktown where Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Pastor David McElroy officiating. Entombment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park. Military Rites will be accorded by U. S. Army and the Hanson-Cole American Legion Post #391.
