Ruth A. Deems, 84, of Ellsworth, PA passed away in her home surrounded by family on March 4, 2026, after a recent battle with illness.

She was born on May 29, 1941, in Uniontown, PA and was later a proud homemaker for her beloved family.  Ruth enjoyed taking care of family and her grandchildren.  Especially Saturday visits with her great granddaughter.  She also enjoyed playing cards, doing puzzles, and most recently playing on her iPad.

Surviving is two daughters Sara Skariot (Thomas) of Somerset, KY and Jean Durila (Richard) of Scenery Hill, PA; 6 grandchildren Edward Deems Jr, James Hartley Jr., Joshua Hartley, Steven Durila, Haley Fagnan and Alexie Durila; 7 great grandchildren with one on the way; son in law James Hartley Sr. ; numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her husband Robert J. Deems; children Eddie Deems and Debbie Hartey; and several siblings.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Funeral Home.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday March 7, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home Ltd. 2830 Main St. Beallsville, PA, PO box 11.   A brief prayer service will begin at 4:30 p.m.  with Deacon Al Poroda as officiant.  Interment will be private.
