Ruth Eileen Binns – Roberts – McGee, 80 of Brownsville, PA (Centerville Boro.) passed away Thursday December 31, 2020 in Grandview Estates, Elizabeth, PA.
She was born January 23, 1940 in Brownsville, PA a daughter of the late Albert and Alice Hopes Binns.
Ruth was a graduate of Brownsville High School and a 1973 graduate of California State College with a B.S in Education with a focus in Geography.
Ruth was employed as an Elementary School Teacher in Gila Bend Arizona, retiring in 1999 after 14 years' service. She was later employed by the Beth-Center School District as a substitute teacher and was at one point employed as a Teller in the First National Bank located in Fredericktown.
Ruth was a Life Long Member of the Taylor United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and was a member of the Administrative Board of the church. She also formerly served as Secretary/Treasurer of the Westland Cemetery.
Ruth enjoyed being on the family farm and also enjoyed Quilting and Knitting. Anything that had an Owl on it, whether it be ceramics, pictures or clothing it was fair game for collecting.
Surviving are two children, Kenneth Roberts (Laura) of Brownsville, PA, Holly Rohrer (John) of Brownsville, PA; Five grandchildren, Evan Johnson (Jill) of Washington, PA, Sherri Chun (Fabian) of Nemacolin, PA, Grant Johnson (Jamie) of Brownsville, PA, Gregg Johnson of Brownsville, PA and Hannah Gifford (Arron) of New Salem, PA; Seven Great Grandchildren, KéLani, Ethan, Kaleá, Leona, Caitlyn, Wyatt and Maggie; Several Nieces and Nephews; Two Sisters, Joyce Hritz (Michael) of Apollo, PA and Jane Cutshaw of Ovalo, TX.
Deceased is her husband, Gregg Roberts who died February 10, 1984; Great Granddaughter Emma Johnson; Step Mother Daisy Hopes.
Funeral services are private with a public graveside service at 1:30 PM Thursday, January 7, 2021 in Westland Cemetery with Rev. Ernie DeLuca officiating. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Westland Cemetery C/O Richard Binns, 517 Ridge Rd., Brownsville, PA 15417.
