Obituary

On Friday morning, February 9, 2024, Roberta Lucille Keres Pagac, passed into heaven's gates, with her husband Andy by her side.  Roberta was born on August 9, 1935 in Brownsville, {PA, the daughter of the late Robert Keres and Mary Lucille Karolewics.  She graduated from Centerville High School, Class of 1953 and from Penn Commercial Business School in July, 1954. She worked at the Washington County Courthouse where she met the love of her life, Andy.  They were married on September 27, 1958 in Fredericktown, recently celebrating 65 years of marriage.

She only worked a few years until her daughters were born and then she proudly took on the role of being the best mom to her daughters, Andrea (Robert) Johnston and Aggie (David) Scarton.  She was most proud of her five grandchildren and would get the biggest smile on her face when she talked about them.  She was given the name "Gaggles" by her oldest grandson, and she was very affectionately called that by all the grandchildren, Ian Johnston; Maj. Cassandra (David) Cowher; Colin (Lexus) Johnston, Laura Scarton and DJ (Kate) Scarton and her seven great-grandchildren; Daniel, Rebecca and Jacob Cowher; Koy, Kowen, Kopelyn and Kopper Johnston and great-grandbaby Scarton coming this summer.   Roberta also leaves behind her brother John and sister in law, Sandy, along with her sister in law, Toots Pagac and brother in law, Ed Pagac and numerous nieces and nephews.  Deceased are her brother, Robert Keres and wife, Phyllis, along with her brother, Ralph Keres and wife, Janet.

Roberta was a long time member of St. Agnes Church in Richeyville; former CCD teacher; previous member of the St. Agnes Ladies Guild and church volunteer for fish fries and Pike Days.  She was also a social member of the Richeyville Volunteer Fire Department.  Her favorite expression was "Hey Andy"!  She always ended her telephone calls with "bye bye for now"…..

Roberta and Andy have traveled on many cruises since 1994 with her daughters, their husbands and grandchildren.  She also enjoyed traveling to all-inclusive resorts to sunny places with them many times. She had great joy when she could play cards and color with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.   She loved jewelry and going to the casino, play bingo and you knew your birthday card was from Gaggles because it was loaded with so many stickers on the envelope.
