Robert A. Narchus Sr., 82, of Brownsville, PA (Centerville Borough), formerly of Cokeburg, passed away on July 22, 2026, at Westmoreland Hospital following a recent illness.
Mr. Narchus was born in Cokeburg, PA, on August 31, 1943, a son of the late Geno and Ann M. Kralich Narchus. He graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1961 and later earned a degree from California State College where he was always an honors graduate.
He was then enlisted in the U.S. Army serving as a Jr. Armor Officer Retention NCO and served in the office of Personnel Operations for the Pentagon. He was awarded the National Defense Medal and Good Conduct Medal. While in the Army he stood guard for President Nixon’s Inauguration.
On February 8, 1975, he married the late Adelaide E. (Kveder) Narchus who passed on July 26, 2014.
Bob was employed for 20 years with the Beth Energy Mines as a supervisor of training and later the PA Department of Corrections as an inmate employment officer.
He was an avid sports fan for all the Pittsburgh Sports teams. In 1972 he played for the undefeated slow pitch softball team in Bentleyville – The Stingrays.
Surviving are three children Jennifer Miller (Rich), Robert A. Narchus Jr. (Becky), and Jeffrey Narchus; grandchildren Ryan Miller, Jackson and Josie Narchus.
At his request Funeral Arrangements were private, and under the direction of the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home Ltd. 2830 Main Street Beallsville, PA. Military Honors were accorded by the U.S. Army, and interment took place in Lafayette Memorial Park. An online guestbook is available at www.GreenleeFuneralHome.com
