Richard D. "Ricky" Powell

Richard D. “Ricky” Powell, 66 of Cokeburg, PA passed away peacefully in his sleep Sunday, July 12, 2026 in his home.

He was born September 23, 1959 in Washington, PA a son of the late Walter and Frances “Judy” Zeli Powell.

Ricky was a 1978 graduate of Bentworth High School.

He was employed as a union mason for 30 years retiring in 2016 and a proud member of BAC Local #9 Pittsburgh. He enjoyed his work and took immense pride in it.

Ricky was a member of the Cokeburg Moose Lodge #1625 and the former Sons of Italy #609.

He loved spending time with family, especially sporting events with his grandchildren, was a die-hard Pittsburg Steeler, Penguins and Pirates fan and known for his great sense of humor. Other hobbies included gardening, making bread, and cooking.

On September 15, 1984 he married Jennifer Durko Powell who survives.

Also surviving are a son Kurtis Powell of Vestaburg, PA; two grandchildren, Scarlett and Kane Powell of Eighty Four, PA; four brothers, Robert Powell (Rita) of Howell, MI, William Powell of Chapin, SC, Daniel Powell (Greschen) of Cranberry, PA and David Powell (Cynthia) of Temple, TX; several nieces and nephews.

Deceased is a sister Linda Powell Day.

At the request of the deceased all services are private and under the direction of the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd. 2830 Main St. Beallsville, PA. Interment will be in Scenery Hill Cemetery. A guestbook is available at www.GreenleeFuneralHome.com.
