Rebecca L. Hixenbaugh, 88, of Scenery Hill passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025 in the Donnell House, Washington, PA.

Rebecca was born on January 8, 1937 in Washington, PA a daughter of the late Samuel and Agnes Whitner Haney.

She was a 1954 graduate of Trinity High School and also attended Penn Commercial for Business and Bookkeeping.

Rebecca started working as a teen in her family's grocery store, Haney's Grocery in Washington, PA .  She was a model for Caldwell's, Langs and Gimbels, and worked for a Chevrolet dealership in Washington, PA.  and also worked the family farm with her husband William "Bill" Hixenbaugh, whom she shared 63 years of marriage.

She had a wide variety of interests, which included teaching crafts in Beallsville, baking, gardening and going on car trips.  She was also a proud foster grandmother of 25 foster grandchildren and cherished her dog Smokey.   She was a longtime member of the Beallsville United Methodist Church, she was a member of the United Methodist Women, and a member of the former Deemston Grange.

She leaves behind one son, Daniel Hixenbaugh (Wally) of Scenery Hill; two grandchildren D.J. and Becca Hixenbaugh Roebuck; three nieces and one nephew.  She was the last of her immediate family.

Preceding her in death are her husband William "Bill" Hixenbaugh who passed away June 7, 2023; son William D. Hixenbaugh; siblings Nancy Picio, and Reed Haney.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd. 2830 Main St, Beallsville, PA.  Where funeral services will be held on Wednesday beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Kevin Carpenter officiating.  Internment will follow in the Scenery Hill Cemetery.  An online guest book is available at www.greenleefuneralhome.com.
