Priscilla Maxine "Dolly" Holmes, 91 of Fredericktown, PA (Deemston Borough) passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022 in UPMC Shadyside Hospital.

She was born January 11, 1931 in Deemston, PA a daughter of the late Harry H. and Harriett Latham McCarty.

Mrs. Holmes was a 1949 graduate of Centerville High School.

A homemaker, Dolly was also a lifetime member of East Bethlehem Baptist Church and has been attending North Ten Mile Baptist Church.

Dolly enjoyed flowers, gardening, baking, cooking and attending church functions. She        especially loved her family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and attending of all their events.

On January 31, 1948 she married William F. Holmes who died May 17, 2004. They had been married for 57 years at the time of his death.

Surviving are four children, Harry F. Holmes (Billie Jo) of Irwin, PA, Doris Jean Bayles of Amity, PA who was residing  with Dolly along with Nicolas Morris, Harriett E. Holmes Tajmir of Birmingham, AL and William F. Holmes Jr. (Norma) of Deemston; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-three great grandchildren.

Deceased in addition to her husband are two daughters, Nancy Jo Holmes who died in infancy and Lou Ann Snyder; two brothers, Robert and Eugene McCarty, two sisters Lorraine Chambers and Garnet McCarty.

Friends will be received Tuesday from 6 to 9 PM, Wednesday from 2 to 9 PM and Thursday, March 31, 2022 from 11 AM to 2 PM, the time of service, in the Greenlee's Fredericktown Funeral Home, Ltd., 42 Bank St. at Crawford Rd. Fredericktown, PA 15333 with Rev. Dr. Gary Schneider and Pastor Mark Bauer officiating. Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery.
