Peter "Pete" Ladisic, 100, of Cokeburg, PA passed away unexpectedly Friday November 15, 2024  in the VA Medical Center, Aspinwall.

Mr. Ladisic was born on July 24, 1924 in Wendel, PA a son of the late Mike and Anna Zupancic Ladisic.  He attended the Ellsworth High School and was a  U.S. Army veteran serving in the Air Corps serving in WWII with the 15th Air Force B24 Liberator (456th Bomb Group) as a tail gunner.  Staff Sgt. Peter Ladisic was only 18 years old at the time and flew 18 missions before being shot down on his last mission.   For his courage he was awarded several prestigious medals including  the Distinguished Service Cross, Distinguished Flying Cross, Purple Heart, Air Medal, Good Conduct Medal, American-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal.

Upon returning home from the war Mr. Ladisic was a Locksmith and Owner/Operator of the National Lock Co. for 35 years in Bayside Queens, NY.

Mr. Ladisic was highly active and had many hobbies including crossword puzzles, watching sports (especially all Pittsburgh teams), golfing, and spending time with his family.   He was a member of the American Legion Post 165 in Bentleyville, PA, Lions Club International, and a lifelong member of the St. George Cokeburg Croation Club #354 .

Surviving are a daughter Kim Thompson (Charles) of Bentleyville, PA; one sister Viola Zeigilla of Cokeburg, PA; 7 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him death are his wife Frances T. Miller Ladisic who passed away in 1989;  three sons Bruce Ladisic, Peter J. Ladisic, Jeffrey Ladisic; granddaughter Brooke Ladisic; 5 sisters  Julia Wiener, Rosella LaBraska, Leona Puskarich, Dolores Goblesky, Janice Yoskey, and two brothers Joseph Ladisic, Marion "Merk" Ladisic.

Friends will be received Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 2:00  to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Greenlee's Bentleyville Funeral Home 619 Main Street Bentleyville, PA, 15314.   Where Funeral Services will be held on Thursday November 21, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow in the Beallsville Cemetery.  The U.S. Army and the Bentleyville American Legion Post 165 will accord Full Graveside Military Rites.    An online guestbook is available at www.GreenleeFuneralHome.com
