Nancy L. Wiegel, 96 of Brownsville, PA (Centerville Borough) passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023 in Standish Assisted Living, Washington, PA.

She was born February 11, 1927 in Elizabeth, PA a daughter of the late Ward and Carrie Jackson Wiegel.

Nancy was a 1944 graduate of Centerville High School and earned a bachelor's degree in secondary education from Indiana University.

Miss Wiegel was employes as a teacher in the Beth Center school district where she taught geography, world government, social studies and civics retiring in 1986 after 38 years of service.

Nancy was a lifelong member of Taylor United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school, Bible school and served as Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer. She was also a member of PSERS, NEA, and the PA State Education Association.

Her leisure time was spent playing the piano, reading and doing crossword puzzles.

Surviving are a niece Betsy Russian (Ron) of Beaver, PA; two great nieces, Cody and Betsy; two great nephews, Ian and Austin. She was the last of her immediate family.

Preceding her in death are two brothers, William Wiegel and Ward Wiegel Jr.

Funeral services are private and have been entrusted to the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd. Beallsville, PA. Interment will be in Taylor Cemetery, Brownsville, PA.
