Obituary

Michael P. Lewis, 75 of Marianna, PA passed away Sunday October 20, 2024 in the Concordia Hospice of Washington Donnell House after a lengthy illness.

He was born June 15, 1949 in Towanda, PA a son of the late George and Edna Bahl Lewis.  Michael was a 1967 graduate of St. Agnes High School, and later achieved an associates degree in Drafting, and was employed as a Draftsman for over 38 years at the former Superior Valve Company in Washington.

Mike was a proud  United States Navy veteran where he served four years of active duty in the Vietnam War and spent an additional 20 years in the Reserves.  A patriotic citizen he was also a member of the Marianna American Legion Post 744.  He was also proud to be a member of the Honor Guard for several years.

Mr. Lewis was a man of great faith, as well as a family man.  He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, St James Parish in Washington, PA for many years.  He enjoyed nothing more than being a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.  Mike was also a talented craftsman, where it seemed there was nothing he could not create with his woodworking.

On April 4, 1970 he married his wife Linda Ladebue Lewis who survives.  They celebrated 54 years of marriage.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two children David Lewis (Carey) of Fredericktown, PA; and Lisa Beal (Lester) of Marianna, PA; four grandchildren Jeremiah Lewis, Alexander Lewis, Kevin Beal, and Jason Beal; two great grandchildren Jonas, and Anastasia Lewis; four siblings Theresa Dreisbach, Mary Lewis (Edward), John Lewis (Kathy), and Rose Powers.


Preceding him in death are two brothers George Lewis and his late wife Barbara, and Raymond Lewis and his late wife Susan.

Friends will be received Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home Ltd. 2830 Main Street Beallsville, PA 15314.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday October 23, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, St. James Parish Washington with Fr. Mike Zavage as celebrate.  Everyone is asked to please meet at the church.  In Lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Kidney Foundation.  An online guestbook is available at www.GreenleeFuneralHome.com where you may express personal condolences.
