Obituary

Michael "Dixon" Error, 94, of Cokeburg, born on November 19, 1931, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026, in the home he was born and raised in, as well as raised his own family. He was the son of the late Michael Error and Dorothy (Yanatovic.) On July 18, 1959, he married Clara Sabolsky who survives. Together they shared 66 years of marriage. He enjoyed cutting grass, going to the casino, listening/dancing to polka music, playing dartball, and watching Gunsmoke. He also had a love for his grandpets and was known to walk around town with pockets of treats for many of his dog friends. Mr. Error graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1949, served in the US Army, earned a bachelor's degree from Washington and Jefferson College in 1959, and retired thirty-four years ago as a general mine foreman with Bethlehem Mines Corp. (Mine 60, Livingston Portal) He was a member of the Cokeburg Moose and the Bentleyville American Legion. Surviving are a son, Michael (Renee) Error of Dublin, Ohio, a daughter, Suzanne E. Ailes of Bentleyville, a granddaughter, Kaytlin (Fernando) of Austin, Texas, and a grandson, Michael, also of Dublin, Ohio, a sister, Mary "Dolly" Sebro and Millie Error both of Cokeburg, sister-in-laws, Margaret "Peggy" Livingston (William) of Fort Wayne, In., and Darlene "Tunie" Fiem Error, of Cokeburg and a brother-in-law, William "Willie" Toth of Mill Run, PA., along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death, along with his parents are a brother, Peter Error and a sister, Dorothy "Cookie" Toth. He was a kind, wonderful man, who will be greatly missed. Friends will be received on Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. in the Greenlee's Bentleyville Funeral Home, 619 Main St., Bentleyville, where a funeral service will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Fran Skariot officiating.  Interment will follow at   Scenery Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that in remembrance of Dixon's life and love, any charitable donations be made to hospice or an animal rescue.
