Mary Ellen Powell, 65, of VanVoorhis, PA (Fallowfield Twp.) passed away unexpectedly on August 25, 2025, in the Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital.

She was born on February 2, 1960, in Pittsburgh, PA, a daughter of the late Richard G.  and Cecelia Wilkes Powell.  She attended the Ringgold High School and was later a Homemaker for her large family.

Mary absolutely loved being a mother and grandmother.  She also enjoyed flowers and gardening, thrift shopping, decorating and home remodeling, and baking.  Especially her famous peanut butter cookies and her "Angel Eggs."

She was a woman of deep faith and former member of the Bentleyville Assembly of God Church.

She leaves behind 6 children Valerie Powell (Doug) of Monongahela, PA; Damien Powell of Uniontown, PA; Casey Powell (Devon) of Charleroi, PA; Jerrid Powell Sr. also of Charleroi; Zachary Dobrinski of VanVoorhis, PA; and Ellen Hough (Christopher) also of VanVoorhis.  Grandson Jerrid Powell Jr. of VanVoorhis; siblings Donna Chacko of Donora, PA, Robin Powell (Celeste) of Finleyville, PA, Rebecca Klanchar (Donald) of Eighty Four, PA, and Randy Powell (Stefanie) of Venetia, PA.  Many other grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death is her brother Richard "Ricky" Powell.

Friends will be received on Thursday August 28, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Greenlee's Bentleyville Funeral Home 619 Main St. Bentleyville, PA where Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.  Interment will follow in the Finleyville cemetery.    An online guestbook is available at www.GreenleeFuneralHome.com
