Marcella H. Farkas, 96, of Daisytown, PA passed away peacefully with her son at her side on October 18, 2025.  She was the last member of her immediate family.

She was born on June 19, 1929, in Centerville, PA a daughter of the late Louis and Lillian "Lidia" Stanko.  Following her high school graduation, she was employed as a seamstress at Charland Sportswear in Speers for 23 years.   Mrs. Farkas was married to her husband Julius Farkus Sr. for 24 years before his passing in November of 1973.

A woman of faith, she was a member of the Calvin United Presbyterian Church in Brownsville until marriage, and then Daisytown United Presbyterian Church.  Marcella taught Sunday school and vacation bible school for many years.

She was an avid gardener and master crafter, creating many beautiful works of art such as afghans, quilts, wreaths, dried flower arrangements, pictures, and Christmas ornaments.   She also created many articles of her own clothing as well as repairing clothing for friends and family.   Baking was also one of her specialties, especially her fruit pies.

Surviving is her beloved son Julius Farkas Jr. who took care of her in her later years, several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death in addition to her husband and parents are siblings Esther, Lillian, Viola, Louis, Arpod, Charlotte, Elvira, and Ella Mae, along with other nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday October 23, 2025, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home Ltd. 2830 Main Street.  Where funeral services will be held Friday beginning at 11:00 a.m. with pastor Louise Corbett officiating.  Interment will follow in Phillipsburg cemetery California, PA.   An online guestbook is available at www.GreenleeFuneralHome.com
