Lynn Whitener Markovich, 74 , of California Boro, PA  passed away Saturday, September 13, 2025 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

Lynn was born on January 7, 1951 in Washington, PA a daughter of the late Alfred and Ruth Miclic Whitener.

She was a 1968 graduate of Washington High School and went on to Duquesne University and Washington Hospital School of Nursing where she earned her RN degree.

In 1970 she began working at Washington Hospital in the CCU and ICU Departments.  Ultimately retiring from the GI Lab in 2020 after 50 years of service.

Lynn devoted her life to her husband, her career and to caring for others.  She also loved reading, working in the yard and she loved her pets dearly.

She was a catholic by faith, a former member of the Immaculate Conception Church of Washington and later a member St Thomas Aquinas of California, PA.

On October 6, 1973 she married Andrew Markovich Jr. who survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Jennifer Thomas (James) of Indiana, PA and a sister Joan Stewart of Washington, PA.

Preceding her in death are her parents and a brother-in-law James Stewart.
