Luella "Lue"
Pataski
Sep 15, 1943 — Dec 13, 2025
Luella "Lue" Pataski, 82, of Vestaburg, passed away unexpectedly in her home on Saturday December 13, 2025.
Lue was born in Cleveland, Ohio on September 15, 1943, the only child of the late Edward and Myrtle (Johnson) Glenzer. She graduated from Parma High School in 1963. A true rebel at heart, Lue lived life on her own terms, those city streets were no match for her independent spirit.
On February 21, 1966, she married the love of her life, James "Hambone" Pataski and left the city to build a life and a family in the small mining town of Vestaburg. They shared 35 years of marriage before his passing in 2001. Together they had two children, Holly Pataski of Pittsburgh and Joey (Lisa) Pataski of New Philadelphia, Ohio; four grandchildren, LaRae' Kinder, Hunter Pataski, Brendan Georgetti, and Alec Pataski; six great grandchildren Maricruz, Leonidas, Jordana, Max, Hadley, and Beckett all of whom survive.
Lue worked as a manager for the Brodak family in various stores for over 40 years, her strong work ethic is evident as she finally retired in 2025 at the age of 81. She faithfully played the lottery daily and quite possibly might have broken even throughout the years. In her younger years, she was an excellent bowler and skilled pool player. At home she could be found gardening or decorating beautiful cakes for special occasions. In her later years, she cherished her "girl's getaways" with her best friends Sandy Bruce and Ann Noska. Lue had a tight knit group of people she loved and shared a special bond with. Gene and Diane Pataski and Kent Lingis were among that group.
In accordance with her wishes, all funeral arrangements are private and have been entrusted to the Greenlee's Fredericktown Funeral Home LTD, 42 Bank Street, Fredericktown. Interment will be held in the Westland Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, "Ham."
