Lorraine Ruth Gyure, born February 28,1928 in Millsboro, PA was a remarkable mother, grandmother, and a truly cherished soul. She departed from our lives on August 4, 2023 leaving behind an enduring legacy of love and kindness that will forever remain in our hearts.

She touched the lives of countless people with her unwavering devotion to her family and her selflessness towards others. Her unconditional love and boundless generosity were felt by all who had the privilege to know her.

Lorraine, was a 1945 graduate of East Bethlehem High School and a 1947 graduate of The Homestead School of Nursing.

As a mother, Lorraine was the epitome of strength and nurturing. She embraced the joys and challenges of parenthood with grace, offering unwavering support and guidance to her children throughout their lives. Her love knew no bounds, and she was always there to provide a comforting shoulder and words of wisdom in times of need.

Lorraine found immense joy in being a grandmother. She adored her grandchildren and relished every moment spent with them, creating cherished memories that will be treasured for generations to come. Her warm and welcoming presence made her home a haven of love and laughter, where family bonds were strengthened and memories were woven into the fabric of their lives.

In addition to being a devoted family woman, Lorraine  spent her early career in nursing at the VA hospital in Massachusetts, then as a 24 hour on call nurse at the Kefover Mine and J&L Mine from 1947 to 1955. She was also a very familiar face at the Centerville Clinics from 1955 to 1992 where she spent the majority of her career as a lead nurse until her retirement after 37 years of service. Her passion and dedication served as an inspiration to all who knew her, and she made a lasting impact in her community and beyond.

Though she is no longer physically with us, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched. The memory of her radiant smile, her gentle touch, and her words of encouragement will forever be etched in our minds.

Lorraine is survived by her two daughters Terri Godetz Seman and Nancy Selestow , Grandchildren Tammy White Canonsburg, PA, Garett Selestow (Beth) Fredericktown, PA, Two Great Grandchildren Greysen and Emelia Selestow as well as a host of relatives and friends who were blessed by her presence. Lorraine was preceded in death by her first husband James Godetz, Second Husband Joseph "Buckey" Gyure, Mother Mary Molk-Solinsky, Father John Molk, Brother Alfred Molk, Sister Gereldine Garber, Brother Gerald Solinsky, Infant Brother Melvin Molk and Granddaughter Sherry Seman.

A private memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at a date yet to be determined.

Though we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the incredible life she lived and the everlasting impact she had on everyone fortunate enough to know her. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory serve as a guiding light for all of us.

Rest in peace, dear Lorraine. You will forever be missed and never forgotten.
