Leonard Stephen Basey, 79 of Daisytown, PA passed away Monday, May 10, 2021 in his home.

He was born March 1, 1942 in Vestaburg, PA a son of the late Steve and Ann Lipsky Basey.

Leonard honorably served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1966. For his service he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Sharpshooter (Rifle N-14) and Marksman (MG M60).

Mr. Basey was employed by Fort Pitt Bridge in Canonsburg and also worked as a valet at Nemacolin Country Club.

He loved golfing and also enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years.

Surviving are a sister Rose Pournaras (Chris) of Canonsburg, PA; a brother Tim Basey (Janet) of Donora, PA; a niece Stefanie King (Matt); a nephew Thomas Pournaras (Ashley) and sister in law Judy Basey.

Deceased in addition to his parents are a brother Nick Basey and nephew Timothy Pournaras.

All funeral services are private and under the direction of the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd., 2830 Main St. Beallsville, PA. Interment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Bentleyville Public Library 931 Main St. Bentleyville, PA 15314.
