Lawrence D. Brown Jr., 73 of Fredericktown, PA passed away on Monday September 15, 2025, in Transitions Healthcare, Washington.

He was born in Booneville, MS, a son of the late Lawrence Sr. and Margie Gilley Brown.  Lawrence graduated from the Joliet East High School in Joliet, Illinois and was later enlisted in the United States Army serving in the Vietnam conflict from 1971 to 1973 before being honorably discharged.

He was a proud veteran, during his time in service he was awarded multiple awards including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, RVCM Medal, Expert Weapons Qualification Badge, and the Sharpshooter Qualification Badge.

Lawrence was a hard-working man and was employed as a laborer for the Local 75 Union.  Where he retired after many years of service.

He loved spending time with his family, gardening, reading, and fishing.  He absolutely adored his dogs Butterball and Gizmo.  In his final years he had started reading and understanding the Bible.

On July 14, 2006, he married his wife Shirley Fretz Brown who survives.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three children Robert Stevens, Tina Garner (Robert) both of Fredericktown, PA and Shirley Holsey (Derrick Price) of Brownsville, PA;  11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; Siblings Louise Newberry, Joyce Gray, Connie Raddatz, and Larry Brown; several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death is a grandson, Sage.
