Laverne Lynn Starr, 70, of Bentleyville, PA passed away on Monday March 3, 2025 in the Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital after a brief illness.
Laverne was born on June 18, 1954 a daughter of the late Pete Sr. and Shirley Boothe Palovich. She was a 1972 graduate of the Bentworth High School, and was later employed as a Bus Driver for the Bentworth School District, as well as a driver for the Tippy Canoe School District in Tipp City, OH for several years. In addition to her extensive driving history, she was also employed at the Bentleyville Truck Stop as a waitress for a number of years.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, dining out, and spending the holiday's surrounded by family. An avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan she also enjoyed watching her grandchildren at various sporting events.
A woman of great faith, she was long time member of the Bentleyville Christian Assembly of God.
She leaves behind three children Kris Bakewell (Wallace) of Brownsville, PA, Douglas Starr (Jen Connelly) of Ellsworth, PA, and Don Marshall (Syree Lawhorne) of Coal Center, PA; 9 grandchildren Shanna Rohrer (Matt), Bethany Johnston (George), Ronnie Jay, Alyssa Strauss (Tommy), Brandon, and McKenna Starr, Kyle, Kenzie, and Kaycen Marshall; two great grandchildren Payton Strauss, and Paisley Starr; one brother Pete Palovich (Caroline) of Cokeburg, PA.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents are her husband Wilfred Starr who passed away on August 28, 2015; and an infant sister Mary Kay Palovich.
Friends will be received from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday March 6, 2025 in the Greenlee's Bentleyville Funeral Home 619 Main St. Bentleyville, PA where Funeral Services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Matt Openbrier officiating. Interment will follow in the Beallsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Bentleyville Christian Assembly of God 100 Meadow Dr. Bentleyville, PA, 15314.
