Kimberly Ann Esmond, 55 of Brownsville, PA (Centerville Borough) formerly of Mercer County passed away Monday, December 25, 2023 at Transitions Healthcare in Washington following a long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
She was born February 12, 1968 at Hill Air Force Base in Salt Lake City, Utah a daughter of James C. and Barbara A. Young McEwen of Mercer, PA who survive.
Kimberly was a 1986 graduate of Mercer High School.
She was employed by Mellon Bank as a teller traveling throughout 3 counties. In 1993 she made the transition to becoming a homemaker which afforded her the ability to become very active in her children's school and sports activities. She made being the best mom her #1 job putting her kids before herself time and time again. Her kids were her pride and joy. She was co-founder and treasurer of Fredericktown Fastpitch, assistant coach for Beth Center Bitty Basketball, and classroom mom for all four of her children attending every field trip as a chaperone. Other activities she enjoyed included bicycle riding, cross-stitch, reading and ice skating. She had a special connection with hummingbirds, they were naturally attracted to her.
Kimberly was a member of St. Marcellus Church in Jefferson , PA and the Jefferson Morgan PTA.
On June 26, 1993 she married Robert "Bob" Esmond who survives. They celebrated 30 1/2 years of marriage.
Also surviving are four children, Christine Esmond (Collin Woss) of Elizabeth, PA, Michael, Laura, and Johnathon Esmond of Brownsville, PA; one grandson Hayden Woss; two siblings, Mark McEwen and Michele Arrow (Kevin) both of Mercer, PA; a nephew Nathan Arrow of Mercer, PA.
Friends will be received Friday from 1 to 3 PM and 5 to 8 PM in the Greenlee's Fredericktown Funeral Home, Ltd., 42 Bank St. at Crawford Rd. Fredericktown, PA 15333. Prayers will be offered Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 10:15 in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 AM in the St. Marcellus R.C. Church, Jefferson, PA with Fr. Francis Frazer officiating. A Celebration of Life will follow in the church Social Hall. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society, Transitions Healthcare Washington or the National Kidney Foundation.
