Kenneth A. "Kenny" Ross, 74, of Brownsville, PA (Centerville Borough) passed away Monday February 3, 2025 in his home with his wife and family by his side.
Kenny was born on May 18, 1950 in Waynesburg, PA a son of the late Andy and Mildred Korbini Ross. He was a 1968 graduate of the Beth Center High School. Following his graduation he was enrolled in the U.S. Army Reserves.
Mr. Ross was employed as an underground Coal Miner for 6 years and was later employed by Penn-DOT as an Equipment Operator and retired after 25 years of service.
He enjoyed going camping, biking, and was an avid golfer. He organized the Owls Club golf outings for several years. Kenny was known for his love of playing the slots at various casinos. He had a goal of visiting all 67 counties of Pennsylvania with his wife, although he only made it to visit 40 out of 67, and was proud to take a picture in front of every courthouse. He was also a member of the Fredericktown American Legion Post 391.
On July 8, 1989 he married his wife Ruth Ann Elsbury Ross who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters Christina Pucel Barno (Joe) of Finleyville, PA and Carmela Wellington (Keith) of Brownsville, PA; six grandchildren Keith Wellington Jr. (Kaylyn), James Wellington (Fiancé Ashley), Julian, Oliver, and Scarlett Pucel, and Leo Horvath; two great grandchildren Walker and Larissa Wellington; one brother Tim Ross (Nadine) of Low Hill, PA.
Preceding him in death are a daughter Lori Ross who passed away in 2022 (her companion Joe Horvath who survives), three brothers Andrew, Bob, and Richard Ross; great grandchild Wrenn Wellington.
Friends will be received on Friday February 7, 2025 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. in the Greenlee's Fredericktown Funeral Home, Ltd 42 Bank St. Fredericktown, PA, 15333 where additional visitation will be held Saturday from 9:00- 11:00 a.m. the time of service with Pastor Cathleen Molinari officiating. Interment will follow in the Westland Cemetery. An online guestbook is available at www.GreenleeFuneralHome.com where you may express personal condolences.
