Karlen J. Bushta, 81, of Fredericktown passed away on Friday September 12, 2025, in the Greenery Rehab Center, Canonsburg.
She was born March 25, 1944, in Fredericktown, PA, a daughter of the late Adam T. and Angelene Ricci Popielarcheck.

She was a 1962 graduate of Bethlehem Center High School.  Affectionately known as "Miss Karlen," she worked for Community Action for over 25 years before retiring in 2014.

On May 3, 1969, she married the love of her life, Leslie M. Bushta, who passed away in 1984.

She was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Bentleyville and a former longtime member of St Michael's Church in Fredericktown.

Full of love, laughter, strength and resilience, she touched the lives of all that knew her.

Left to cherish her memory, one son, Les Bushta, and one daughter Karla Kelvington (Aaron). Three grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Michael Devecka, Leslie Bushta and Zachary Bushta. One sister, Angela Bodnar (Jeff), four brothers - John Popielarcheck, Albert Popielarcheck (Lucarria) Edward Popielarcheck (Jo Phylis) and James Popielarcheck, two sisters-in-law Maryellen Popielarcheck and Cecilia Popielarcheck and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is lovingly reunited with two brothers - Adam Popielarcheck Jr. and Louis Popielarcheck, sister-in-law Charlotte Popielarcheck, niece Maria Popielarcheck and her dear friend Virginia Lesako.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Greenlee's Fredericktown Funeral Home Ltd. 42 Bank St. Fredericktown, PA.  A Blessing Service will be held on Wednesday in the Funeral Home beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Deacon Al Poroda officiating.   Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park.  An online guestbook is available at www.GreenleeFuneralHome.com
