Karen Downs Kopelchak, 85 of Belle Vernon, PA passed away Friday, July 11, 2025 in Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital.

She was born June 6, 1940 in Charleroi, PA a daughter of the late Gordon and Virginia Harris Downs.

As a 1957 graduate of Ellsworth High School, she also attended Douglas School of Business where she earned a degree in Medical Administration.

She was employed at Children's Hospital in Lawrenceville, PA as a medical records administrator for over 25 years retiring in 2019.

Karen was a fan of the Steelers and enjoyed spending time with her friends.

Surviving are a daughter Kelly, Drexler of Nampa, ID; two granddaughters, Brandy Burkette and Chelsea Abo; two great grandchildren, Sloan Burkette and Kieler Abo, all of ID. Special thanks and great appreciation to Karen's first cousins Linda Goblesky and Brad Debusk for all their help and support.

Deceased are a son Steven Kopelchak and a sister Virginia Stefanko.

Funeral arrangements were private and under the direction of the Greenlee's Bentleyville Funeral Home.
