Julia Gyure

Julia Gyure, 93, of Detroit, Michigan, formerly of Daisytown, PA, died Wednesday, October 1, 2008 in the Dorvan HCR Manorcare in Livonia, Michigan.
She was born on July 24, 1915 in Daisytown, PA, a daughter of the late Alexander and Julia Yakim Hegedus.
In 1934, she married Steve Gyure, who died on October 27, 1978.
Mrs. Gyure was a homemaker and also had 25 yrs. of service with the California State College.
Mrs. Gyure was known for the cookies she made for local weddings. She enjoyed needlepoint and crocheting.
Surviving is one son- Steven C. Gyure and his wife Jo Ann Derry of Detroit, MI, one grandson- Jonathon D. Gyure of San Diego, CA, and one sister- Mary Sakach of Aurora, CO, and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are 3 brothers- Alex, John, and William Hegedus, and one sister Helen Bielek.
Friends will be received from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm Monday in the Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, PA, where a blessing service will be held at 11 am Tuesday, October 7, 2008 with the Rev. John Forbidussi officiating. Interment will follow in the Beallsville Cemetery.
