Joyce Ursic, 71, of Scenery Hill, PA, passed away at home on Monday, May 11, 2026.

Born August 22, 1954, she was a daughter of the late Gerald R. and Anna Stephonic Dean.

Joyce graduated from Chartiers-Houston High School in 1972 and from the Washington Hospital School of Nursing in 1975. She served 40 years as a registered nurse, retiring from Canonsburg Hospital in 2020. She was known for her compassion and dedication to caring for others.

A devout Roman Catholic, Mrs. Ursic was an active member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish, Bentleyville and Richeyville churches. She enjoyed quilting with her daughter, British television crime dramas, and playing slot machines at casinos. Joyce especially loved her beagle hounds, her cat, and watching purple martins each summer. She treasured time with her family and the tradition of preparing holiday meals. She also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and abroad, including visits to Rome, Italy, Croatia, Ireland, Norway, Iceland, the United Kingdom, and Hawaii.

On May 8, 1976, she married William Ursic Jr., who survives, along with their children, Jaime Ursic (Jason Williams) of Scenery Hill, PA, William Ursic III (Amy) of Washington, PA, and Benjamin Ursic of Charleroi, PA; siblings, Gerri Zimak (Gary), Gerald Dean (Darlene), and Donna Kutchel (Vinnie); and several nieces and nephews.

Private services were held under the direction of the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd., Beallsville, PA, with Rev. Edward Yuhas officiating.
