Josephine Berardinelli, 95 of Washington, PA, formerly of Cokeburg, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2021 in Washington Hospital.

She was born February 21, 1926 in Canonsburg, PA a daughter of the late Valentine and Carolina Sajan Pelan.

Mrs. Berardinelli was a 1944 graduate of Canonsburg High School.

She worked alongside her husband in their family store, Berardinelli's Grocery in Cokeburg where they were in continuous operation for over 80 years before closing in 2017.

She was a lifelong member of the Cokeburg Presbyterian Church where she also sang in the choir. Josephine was very strong in her Christian faith.

She was an avid reader and loved music and cooking.

Surviving are three children, Deborah Dixon (Colin) of San Antonio, TX, Cynthia Garlisi (Guy) of Washington, PA and Joseph Berardinelli (Michelle) of Mobile, AL; six grandchildren, Amber Warfield, Daniel Dixon, Joy Sealy, Jonathan Dixon, Vincent Garlisi and Anna Berardinelli; daughter in law Theresa Berardinelli of Cokeburg; one sister, Frances Delphine of Baden, PA; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Deceased are her husband Dick Berardinelli who died November 21, 2016; a son Richard Berardinelli; a grandson Matthew Dixon; five sisters, Carol Marshall, Mary Palovich, Mildred, Bertha and Annie Pelan.

All funeral services are private and under the direction of the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd., 2830 Main St. Beallsville, PA.
