Obituary

Joseph L. Saflin, 93 of Brownville, PA (Binnstown) passed away Wednesday April 10, 2024 in his home with his family by his side.

He was born November 30, 1930 in Monessen, PA a son of the late Michael and Mary Martinich Saflin.

He was a graduate of Monessen High School, and was later employed as a Millwright at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel in Monessen, PA and also worked in the Coke Plant.

He was a proud U.S Army veteran serving in the Korean War, and was a member of the Centerville American Legion Post # 705.

A man of faith, he was a member of the former St. Oliver Plunket Catholic Church in Fredericktown, PA, now St. Katharine Drexel Parish.

On June 21, 1958 he married his wife Genevieve Stotka Saflin who survives.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two children Donna Revi (Robert) of Belle Vernon, PA, and Joe Saflin (Marsha) of Gainesville, VA; five grandchildren Trent Saflin (Raquel), Trevor Saflin, Trey Saflin, Jarett Orlandi, and Paige King (Drew); three great grandchildren Raigan, and Hadley King, and Reid "R.J." Saflin.

Preceding him in death are six siblings Robert, Michael, and Steve Saflin; sisters Charlotte Saflin, Mildred Rauchfuss, and Mary Gregula.

Funeral Arrangements are being held privately, and under the direction of the Greenlee's Fredericktown Funeral Home Ltd. 42 Bank Street Fredericktown, PA.  Entombment will be held in Lafayette Memorial Park with Committal prayers, and Military Honors accorded by the U.S Army and Centerville American Legion Post #705.
