Joseph M. “Jo Jo” Goblesky, 70, of Cokeburg, PA passed away unexpectedly on August 6, 2026, in the Washington Hospital.
He was born on October 2, 1955, in Washington, PA a son of the late William and Dolores Ladisic Goblesky. Jo Jo was a 1974 graduate of the Bentworth High School and was later employed as a Coal Miner for the Bethlehem Mine Corporation and Consol Energy at Mine #60 in Eighty-Four, and Somerset Portal as an Underground Fire Boss and retired in 2009 after 35 years of service.
On March 21, 2003, he married his wife Linda (DeBusk) Goblesky who survives.
Jo Jo was known to be a true “gentle giant”, and enjoyed NASCAR, ZZ Top, and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh sports teams. He had a talent for barbequing, making his special sauce and award-winning chili. Cooking and grilling were always something he enjoyed, he had even cooked for various area fundraisers and charities. Hunting and watching westerns were also something Jo Jo enjoyed.
He was a longtime member of the U.M.W.A local #1197, Cokeburg Moose Lodge #1625 (former Treasurer) and CFU St. George Lodge #354.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children Erika Goblesky, Mandie Priestley (Ayinde), Melissa Easton (David) and Bethany Perry (David); 6 grandchildren, Lion and Lynx Priestley, Riley Christophel (William), Nolan Easton, Jacob Magera (Cait), Graycyn Perry; brother Tracy Goblesky; beloved dog Josie; several nieces and nephews as well as many cousins.
The family suggests contributions be made to the Bentleyville Public Library or the Washington Area Humane Society in Jo Jo’s memory.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday August 22, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Greenlee’s Bentleyville Funeral Home 619 Main St. Bentleyville, PA
