John J. Kubicar 97, of Richeyville, PA passed away Tuesday March 19, 2024 in Rolling Meadows Nursing Facility.
He was born January 20, 1927 in East Millsboro, PA a son of the late Michael Kubicar.
A hard worker, Mr. Kubicar was a Coal Miner for Gateway Coal Company for many years. He also was a farmer at his farm in Deemston, PA.
He took much pride in his work on the farm, he also enjoyed going to the casino, auctions, doing word puzzles, and attending dances.
John was a member of the Blainsburg Bible Church, the United Mine Workers of America, and the Fredericktown American Legion post 391.
On March 20, 2000 he married his wife Shirley Turner Kubicar who survives. They would have just celebrated 24 years of marriage.
Surving in addition to his wife are two children Michael, and John Kubicar both of Deemston, PA; three grandchildren Craig Kubicar (Lu-Ann) of Lancaster, PA, Mike Kubicar Jr. of Deemston, PA, and Melissa (Lidia); three great grandchildren Gabriel, Elizabeth, and Caridee; one great great granddaughter Carolyn; one step son Sam Turner.
Preceding him in death is his first wife, Betty Kubicar.
Friends will be received Friday from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home 2830 Main Street Beallsville, PA where funeral services will be held Saturday March 23, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with pastor Frank Menhart Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Horn Cemetery.
