John S. Gibson Jr., 88, of Marianna, PA passed away peacefully on Monday February 16, 2026, in Rolling Meadows Rehabilitation and Nursing.

Mr. Gibson was born on December 15, 1937, in Ten Mile township, a son of the late John Sr. and Lorraine Biegler Gibson.  He graduated from the West Beth High School and later attended Washington and Jefferson College where he received his BS in Mathematics and the California University of Pennsylvania where he obtained his Master's degree.

He was employed as a Professor in Mathematics at both the Waynesburg College and the California University from where he retired after many years.

Along with being highly intelligent, John also enjoyed motor sports and various sports in general.

Surviving is his son John Gibson of Sioux Falls, SD; sister Betty Quigley of Deemston, PA; nephews Jason and Tim Quigley, and Robert Gibson.

Preceding him in death are his wife Rose "Wee" Gibson who passed on March 30, 2020.
