James D. Sargent, 61 of Richeyville, PA (Centerville Borough) passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2023 in his home after a lengthy illness.

He was born August 18, 1962 in Brownsville, PA a son of the late Hershel and Marcella Johns Sargent.

Mr. Sargent was a 1980 graduate of Beth Center High School.

James was a crane operator for more than 30 years for the United Steelworkers in Tube City. He also served as president of the Steelworkers Union USW.

He loved having cookouts and being with his family.

Surviving are two children Erika, and Justin Sargent; and four grandchildren Kyla, Ryan, Dylan, and Caleb.

Funeral arrangements are private and have been entrusted to the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd. 2830 Main St. Beallsville, PA.
