Hazel A. McCune, 108 of Brownsville, PA passed away peacefully Friday, June 14, 2024 in Lafayette Manor Nursing Home.

Mrs. McCune was born February 5, 1916 in Grindstone, PA a daughter of the late William and Sarah E. Coffman Higinbotham.

She was a graduate of Redstone High School.

A homemaker, Hazel was no stranger to hard work, and has lived through remarkable challenges.  She always managed to put her family first.  She was an amazing cook, and baker.  Hazel also enjoyed quilting in her spare time.

She was a very active member in the Centerville United Methodist Church, and was involved with the Women's Society.

Surviving is her son Jack McCune (Joyce) of Point Marion, PA; two grandchildren Jason (Tanya) of Huntsville, AL, and Jancey McCune of Cumming, GA; five great grandchildren Eric McCune, Adam McCune, Jessica McCune, Jackson, and Morgan Craig; one sister Nellie Leichliter of McClellandtown, PA; several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death in addition to her husband Willard "Bud" McCune who passed away in 1993,  her daughter Joan McCune, granddaughter Jarol McCune, and siblings George, William, Robert, Samuel, Alice, Maude, and Ruth.

Friends will be received Tuesday June 18, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, the time of service in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home Ltd. with Pastor Ernie DeLuca officiating.  Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park.   In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Centerville United Methodist Church 823 Old National Pike, Brownsville, PA 15417
