Harold G. Pinkney, 92 of Marianna, PA passed away Monday, April 15, 2024 in McMurray Hills Manor.

He was born September 4, 1931 in  Marianna, PA  a son of the late Jospeh and Mabel Riggar Pinkney.

Harold was a 1950 graduate of West Beth High School and proud Veteran of the U.S. Army.

Mr. Pinkney was employed as an underground miner for Beth Energy in Marianna Mine # 58 as a mechanic for 31 years, retiring in 1988. After his mining career he was employed for 10 years with Tarbuck Security at Millcraft Center.

Harold was a member of the UMWA, the Marianna U.M. Church and the Marianna American Legion Post #744.

His leisure time was spent square dancing, watching sports and Westerns.

Surviving are a daughter Penny Sue Astorina (Alan) of Houston, PA and a brother Franklin "Doodle" Pinkney of Washington, PA; several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are his wife Ruth Bird Pinkney who died December 15, 1986; six brothers, Robert, Joseph, Charles, Edward, Ralph and Donald Pinkney and two sisters, Sara Rudman and Esther Mullens.

Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd., 2830 Main St. Beallsville, PA where funeral services will be held Friday, April 19, 2024 at 2 PM. Interment will follow in Horn Cemetery. Full graveside military rites will be accorded by the Steele-Lillie American Legion Post # 744  of Marianna.
