George G. Marinkovich, of Monongahela, PA (formerly of Ellsworth, PA) was called home on September 6, 2024, after a 12-year battle with cancer.

George was born on May 12, 1956 in New Eagle, PA, a son of the late George and Ann Yurkovich Marinkovich. He was a 1974 graduate of Bentworth High School. Mr. Marinkovich enlisted in the U.S. Army 702nd Medical Battalion where he served as a Spec 4 EMT. He fell in love with his beautiful wife, Maura Lewis Marinkovich, and they were wed on October 19, 1979. Soon thereafter, he became the proud father of their two children, Amy and George. He was employed at Ametek Specialty Metals in Eighty Four, PA where he was a mechanical journeyman and retired after 38 years of service.

He was a member of the St. George Croatian Club in Cokeburg, PA where he was a Junior Tamburitzan. He felt blessed to play guitar for the East Beth Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He enjoyed golfing and running, including the Annual Summit Run, but nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two children Amy Coll of Monongahela, PA and George M Marinkovich (Kendra) of Ellsworth, PA; four grandchildren John L Coll, IV, George A Marinkovich, Cecilia Coll, and Carter Marinkovich; a sister Pamela Rakosky of Venetia, PA; aunts Delores, Dolly and Diana Yurkovich; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, are his mother-in-law Kathleen Kennedy Lewis and brothers-in-law Paul Rakosky and Phillip Michael Lewis.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the excellent care provided by Dr. Nitin Kapoor and the staff at Amedysis Hospice.

Friends will be received on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 12:00 to 3:00 and 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. at which time a Funeral Service will be held in the Greenlee's Bentleyville Funeral Home 619 Main Street, Bentleyville, PA 15314 with Pastor George Lammay officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be held at a later date in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
