Genevieve Lingis

Genevieve Lingis, 86, of Vestaburg, PA passed away on September 19, 2026, in Westmoreland Hospital.

She was born on December 30, 1939, in Carmichaels, PA a daughter of the late Amon and Orpha Bowser Helmick. Genevieve graduated from Carmichaels High School in 1957 and was employed as a Secretary/Stenographer for Dupont Inc. in Cleveland, OH. In her later years she was a proud homemaker for her family.

Mrs. Lingis enjoyed fishing for trout, crocheting, knitting, gardening, canning, baking and cooking. She was an excellent cook, and hard worker always keeping busy with home improvement projects.

Surviving is son William A. Lingis (Dani), grandchildren Noah Lingis (Dalaina) and Jillienne Lingis; brother Earl Helmick (Patty); several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her beloved husband William Lingis who passed December 3, 2020; along with several brothers and sisters.

Friends are welcome to attend a memorial service on Saturday September 26, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Greenlee’s Fredericktown Funeral Home Ltd. 42 Bank St. Fredericktown, PA. A funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home, and interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.
