Fred T. Hartley

Fred T. Hartley, 77, of Coal Center, PA died on Saturday September 19, 2026, in Premier Washington Rehab and Nursing Center.

He was born in Waynesburg, PA on October 16, 1948, a son of the late William C. and Julia Slovak Hartley. In 1968 he graduated from the California Area High School. Fred was a self-employed Auto Body Technician, and Coal Miner for the Crescent Hill Coal Company.

Fred had a passion for working on cars, riding ATVs with his friends, fishing with his son, and spending cherished time with his grandchildren. He got enjoyment out of giving his wife Bernadine a “hard time” and reminiscing about his daughters & friends many adventures.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years Bernadine Dillon Hartley; children Eric D. Hartley, and Melissa S. Daniels (Tony); 2 grandchildren Lilly and Cooper; brothers Charles Hartley (Mary) and Edward Hartley (Tony); several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are 3 brothers Bill and Bob Hartley and Lonnie Doerfler.
