Frank L. Shimborske, 89, of Uniontown, PA (Formerly of Denbo) passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026 in the Mt. Macrina Manor, Uniontown, PA.

He had recently celebrated his 89th birthday, and was born on January 14, 1937 in Fredericktown, PA a son of the late Frank and Elizabeth Stagon Shimborske.

Frank graduated from the Beth Center High School in 1954 and was immediately enlisted in the Unites States Marine Corps serving from 1954 to 1957 during the Korean conflict.

After returning from the Marine Corps Mr. Shimborske continued his service as a Police Officer, retiring after 27 years of service with the N.Y.P.D.   On October 28, 1961 he married his wife Mary E. Shimborske who passed away on March 11, 2014.

He and his wife were members of the former St. Oliver Plunkett church in Fredericktown and a current member of the St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Richeyville, PA.  Frank enjoyed playing golf, paddle ball and bowling.  He also was a member of the Owls Club, and the Fredericktown American Legion.   In recent years he enjoyed the Senior Center in Vestaburg, PA.

Surviving are three sons Michael Shimborske (Diane) of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Steven Shimborske (Christine) of Long Island, NY and Paul Shimborske (Michele) of Queens, NY; five grandchildren Dana Thau (Mikey), Justin Shimborske (Lauren), Casey, Erin, and Lindsey Shimborske; two great grandchildren Eliza and Jesse Thau; siblings Richard Shimborske and Sandra Zets.

Friends will be received on Friday January 30, 2026 from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Greenlee's Fredericktown Funeral Home Ltd. 42 bank St. Fredericktown, PA.  Prayers will be recited in the Funeral Home at 9:45 a.m. Saturday followed by a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Katharine Drexel Parish, Richeyville Campus with the Rev. Edward L. Yuhas as celebrant.  Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill,  where Military Honors will be accorded by the U.S.M.C and Fredericktown American Legion Honor Guard.
