F. Thomas Gayman Thomas "Tom" Gayman, 90 of Zollarsville, PA (West Bethlehem Twp.) passed away November 26, 2022 in Washington Hospital.
He was born October 11, 1932 in Marianna, West Beth Twp., a son of the late Fred L. and Lida E. McAfee Gayman.
Mr. Gayman was a 1950 graduate of West Bethlehem High School and attended the Stenotype Institute of Pittsburgh prior to moving to California in 1952.
He served in the US Army from 1953-1955 during the Korean Conflict.
He was employed by Long Beach Federal S&L Association, Long Beach, CA. as Operations Officer from 1952-1968 and by Smith International /Diversified Federal Credit Union, Irvine, CA as Treasure/General Manager from 1969-1990, at which time he retired and returned to PA.
He was a lifelong member of First Christian Church of Marianna where he served as pianist for many years as well as trustee and treasure. He also served as secretary on the board of Marianna Community Public Library and was an elected auditor of West Bethlehem Township for 5 years.
His hobby, after retirement, was genealogy, having researched and publish several of his direct ascendant lines. He also directed and accompanied the choir of Beth Center Senior Center for a number of years.
Surviving are nieces Linda Goughenour (James) of Marianna, PA, Debbie O'Leary (Frank) of Ruff Creek, PA, Peggy Novak (Billy) of Jefferson, PA, Susan Novak (David) of Mather, PA; nephew James Gayman Sr. (Beverly) of Mather, PA; several great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a half sister Dorothy L. Maxwell and two brothers, Isaac E. and James M. Gayman.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 3 to 7 PM in the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd., 2830 Main St. Beallsville, PA where Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 11 AM with Rev. Dr. Joann Nelson officiating. Interment will follow in Horn Cemetery.
