Edward Millard Evans passed away on October 19, 2026, leaving behind a family who loved him dearly.
Ed graduated from Deer Lakes High School in 1973 and went on to attend Cornell University and the University of Pittsburgh. He worked for Anter Corporation in Monroeville and Waters Corporation in New Castle, Delaware.
Ed was an avid reader of science fiction, a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and someone who loved to cruise. He especially enjoyed spending long weekends with his wife, Christine, at their camp at Holiday Camplands. He never turned down an opportunity to play cards or board games with family, and one of the highlights of his week was babysitting his grandson, Cameron.
And if you knew Ed, you knew Mountain Dew was never in short supply. He certainly did his part to keep them in business!
Ed is survived by his beloved wife, Christine Evans; his son, Michael Semancik; his daughter, Bernadette Jaquay, and her husband, Patrick; and his cherished grandson, Cameron Jaquay. He is also survived by his sisters, Kim Reynolds and her husband, Joe, and Cheryl Landis and her husband, Tim; two nieces, two nephews, five great-nephews, and two great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Edward Evans.
Ed will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. His memory will live on through family gatherings, card games, time spent together, and all the little things that made him who he was.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a memorial gathering and share fond memories on Saturday October 24, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Greenlee’s Fredericktown Funeral Home Ltd. 42 Bank St. Fredericktown, PA. An online guestbook is available.
