Edward Richard "Dick" Davis, 80 of Fredericktown, PA passed away peacefully Thursday, July 25, 2024 in his home.

He was born August 3, 1943 in Waynesburg, PA a son of the late Edward D. Davis and Margaret E. Morris Davis Ciez.

Dick was a 1961 graduate of Cumberland High School.

He served in the U.S. Army from October 1961 to October 1964.

On September 25, 1966 he married his loving wife Glenda
M. Moore. They made their home in Elyria, OH.

Mr. Davis was employed at the General Motors  tank plant until it closed. Returning to this area, he was then employed as a truck driver at Fox Grocery in Belle Vernon, PA from 1973 to his retirement in 1998.

He was a member of the Waynesburg V.F.W. and the Moose Lodge 309 in Belle Vernon.

Dick enjoyed golfing with family and friends, country music, especially Johnny Cash, Morris Brothers Band and Sweet Creek Band. He liked western movies, John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart, Clint Eastwood and Gunsmoke. He was a cowboy at heart. He and his nephew, one of his closest friends, had horses and enjoyed riding, even adding a few cattle drives to their adventures. He was also a fan of the Steelers and Pirates and enjoyed NASCAR, attending several races in his lifetime. Dale Earnhart was his number one driver. Dick and Glenda loved to travel, especially the western states. They have visited almost all of the U.S. including Hawaii and Alaska as well as 10 foreign countries.

He led a full and blessed life!

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife Glenda M. Moore Davis; two loving daughters, Tina Susick (Terence) of Belle Vernon, PA and Teresa Balog (William) of Richeyville, PA; five grandchildren, Miranda and Morgan Susick, Tyffini, Skyeler and Talon Balog; four great grandchildren, Elaina, Addyson, Eve, and Quinn; several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents that he affectionately called Maw and Pa, who helped to raise him; his beloved uncle Paul L. Morris (Betty surviving). Through marriage he gained several brothers and sisters who he was very close to, preceded in death Robert Moore (Wilma), Louis Moore (Betty), Pauline Wilson (Ralph), Frances George (Wayne), Samuel Moore (Joyce surviving), Arthur Moore (Barbara surviving) and surviving Sharon Cowell (Keith).

Funeral services are private and under the direction of the John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, Ltd., 2830 Main St. Beallsville, PA. Inurnment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA.
